R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Patricia Barton of Dallas and LaJuana Barton of
  DeSoto have published their first book, Faithful Remembrances
  Volume I, and it is indeed fitting to congratulate this talented
  mother-and-daughter team on their literary debut; and
         WHEREAS, Since childhood, Patricia Barton has written both
  poetry and prose; she and her husband, Charles, are the parents of
  two daughters, LaJuana and her younger sister, Robin; recently
  retired, Patricia Barton expresses her faith by devoting her time
  to helping others; and
         WHEREAS, LaJuana Barton inherited her mother's storytelling
  ability and has written a number of books of poetry and prose; a
  graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's
  degree in journalism, she serves as chief of staff for state senator
  Royce West; and
         WHEREAS, Following the loss of several loved ones, Patricia
  and LaJuana Barton joined their efforts in order to offer solace to
  others through a collection of poems; the works included in their
  book affirm the stages of grief encountered by the bereaved while
  offering reassurance, understanding, and hope; and
         WHEREAS, Patricia Barton and LaJuana Barton have provided
  inspiration to readers in need of compassion and encouragement, and
  their willingness to share their own experiences in poetry is truly
  commendable; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Patricia
  Barton and LaJuana Barton on the publication of their first book,
  Faithful Remembrances Volume I, and extend to them sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the authors as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
