R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Methodist Richardson Foundation hosted the 8th
  annual WildRide! WildRun! Against Cancer in Richardson on May 21,
  2011; and
         WHEREAS, Exceeding expectations, the event raised more than
  $170,000 for the Methodist Richardson Cancer Center and cancer
  care; more than 1,800 cyclists and 650 runners participated in the
  races, which were held in conjunction with the Richardson
  WildFlower! Arts & Music Festival; and
         WHEREAS, The WildRide! fund-raiser was created by Richardson
  resident Richard White, a cycling aficionado, and to date has
  raised more than $1 million for the hospital and cancer center; the
  2011 event drew sponsorship from numerous local businesses, and
  many city leaders attended to welcome the huge crowd; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1994, the Methodist Richardson
  Cancer Center opened its new Bush/Renner Campus location in 2008 to
  bring an advanced level of cancer care to the region; the facility
  offers a compassionate, multidisciplinary approach to care and
  features such innovative treatment options as a noninvasive
  radiation method featuring Novalis shaped beam technology; and
         WHEREAS, The success of the WildRide! WildRun! Against Cancer
  is a testament to the community's support for the Methodist
  Richardson Cancer Center and its important contributions to cancer
  care and treatment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate the Methodist
  Richardson Foundation on the success of the WildRide! WildRun!
  Against Cancer fund-raiser and commend all those who participated
  in this worthwhile event; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
