R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The prosperity of the Lone Star State depends in
  large part on the strength and innovative spirit of family-owned
  businesses, and Francisco Guerra, Jr., of Starr County has made
  valuable contributions for 45 years as the founder of La Rosita
  Gravel, Inc.; and
         WHEREAS, Born in the town of La Rosita, "Chito" Guerra is the
  son of Francisco and Constancia Guerra; he began helping his father
  as a boy, shining shoes to earn money, and they later teamed up to
  sell gravel around Starr County; he left school at 15 to work
  full-time and then served his country in France during World War II,
  earning a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Guerra studied mechanics after the war and
  helped build the power plant and gates for Falcon Dam; for 15 years,
  he worked in construction all over the state, and he then went on to
  purchase a dump truck and establish La Rosita Gravel; he
  demonstrated great ingenuity in building equipment when he could
  not afford to buy it, and through thrift, hard work, and
  perseverance, this successful entrepreneur today owns a
  flourishing company with 14 cement mixers, 4 trucks, an excavator,
  a bulldozer, and 2 loaders; giving generously of his resources, he
  helped build the parking lot for the Rosita Santa Rosa de Lima
  Church; he is devoted to his faith and to a fine family that
  includes his beloved wife, Lilia Chito Moreno, and their 11
  children; in his free time, he enjoys dancing and singing; and
         WHEREAS, Chito Guerra has won the respect and admiration of
  many as a dynamic member of the Starr County business community, and
  he may indeed reflect with pride on his accomplishments; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Francisco "Chito"
  Guerra, Jr., for his achievements and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Guerra as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
