R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, June 18, 2011, marked the 67th wedding anniversary
  of Pedro and Estefana Villareal of Elsa, providing a wonderful
  opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey together as
  husband and wife; and
         WHEREAS, Pedro Villareal was born in Cuevitas, while the
  former Estefana Reyes is a native of Weslaco; they were joined in
  matrimony on June 18, 1944, by a justice of the peace; initially,
  Mr. and Mrs. Villareal were employed as migrant workers, and they
  traveled to Washington State; Mr. Villareal later joined the
  Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District as a custodian and retired
  after two decades of dedicated service; valued members of the local
  Methodist church, they have served the congregation in a number of
  leadership roles; and
         WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. and Mrs. Villareal have been
  blessed with a treasured family that includes 10 children, Pedro,
  Baldemar, Rosa, Aida Mae, Ofelia, Maria Delicia, Maria Elena,
  Susana, Saul, and Eloy, as well as 19 grandchildren, 6
  great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; the couple
  have set an example of responsibility and integrity for their
  offspring and instilled strong values of hard work, humility, and
  thriftiness; and
         WHEREAS, The nearly seven decades of marriage that Mr. and
  Mrs. Villareal have shared provide eloquent affirmation of the
  meaning of love and commitment, and their enduring union is an
  inspiration to all who know them; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Pedro and
  Estefana Villareal on their 67th wedding anniversary and extend to
  them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Villareal as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
