H.R. No. 160
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The 95th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
  cause for celebration, and Lovie Mae Walker Kazee of Dallas is
  commemorating that special day in her life on July 1, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Hearne in 1916 to Bob and Gertie Walker, the
  former Lovie Mae Walker married Lueranze Kazee in 1932, and the
  couple went on to have 10 children and to share more than 67 years
  together; the family moved to Dallas in 1944, and Mrs. Kazee began
  work as a nanny and housekeeper for the Richard Gump family, serving
  in that capacity for more than half a century; she retired in 1997
  to care for her husband, who passed away in 1999; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Kazee attributes her longevity to staying
  physically active and abstaining from alcohol and tobacco as well
  as to her strong faith; a member of the Dallas West Church of
  Christ, she is one of the eight original founding members of that
  congregation, which was established in 1947; and
         WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Mrs. Kazee enjoys the
  support of a large and loving family that has grown to
  include  27  grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, 138
  great-great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-great-grandchildren;
  and
         WHEREAS, This proud matriarch is a source of tremendous
  inspiration to five generations of descendants, and in sharing the
  experience she has gained through 95 years of life well lived, she
  bestows a precious gift of wisdom that benefits all who are
  fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Lovie Mae
  Walker Kazee on the joyous occasion of her 95th birthday and extend
  to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Kazee as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
