R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the kindness and |
|
|
generosity of Sharon Elaine Wright of Plano, who passed away on June |
|
|
14, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A longtime City of Plano employee, Mrs. Wright began |
|
|
her tenure there with the utility billing department in July 1987; |
|
|
she distinguished herself in several positions through the years, |
|
|
earning respect and admiration for her writing skills, her positive |
|
|
demeanor, and her readiness to take on any task; at the time of her |
|
|
retirement in January 2010, she was a valued member of the city |
|
|
manager group, serving as the executive administrative assistant to |
|
|
the mayor and council; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Wright brought to all her endeavors energy, |
|
|
compassion, and joy; she took great pleasure in gardening and yard |
|
|
work, and she was a talented crafter who won first place for a |
|
|
wreath she entered in a State Fair of Texas creative arts contest; |
|
|
moreover, she had a knack for decorating that often led to others |
|
|
seeking her advice or assistance; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Above all, Mrs. Wright was devoted to her family, |
|
|
especially delighting in her role as grandmother, or "Nana," to DJ, |
|
|
Logan, Connor, and Avery, whose company she especially treasured; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although Sharon Wright is deeply missed, memories of |
|
|
this beloved woman remain to comfort and inspire all those who had |
|
|
the good fortune to know her; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
|
|
Sharon Elaine Wright and extend sincere sympathy to the members of |
|
|
her family: to her husband, Freddie Wright; to her children, Kim |
|
|
Starr and her husband, David, David Wright and his wife, Diana, and |
|
|
Colin Wright; to her grandchildren, DJ Starr and Logan, Connor, and |
|
|
Avery Wright; to her sister, Doris Johnson, and her husband, Jim; |
|
|
and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sharon |
|
|
Elaine Wright. |
