R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated businesses play a vital
  role in the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and those enterprises
  that build a record of dependability and longevity hold a special
  place of honor in their communities; and
         WHEREAS, A local institution, El Valle Bakery has served
  residents of Rio Grande City since 1976; the shop was founded by
  Adolfo Berlanga, a native of Mexico, and his wife, Maria del Carmen
  Berlanga; this loving couple shared more than four decades of
  marriage, and together they raised six children, Adolfo, Jose,
  Adriana, Rafael, Carlos, and Jaime; and
         WHEREAS, Though Mr. and Mrs. Berlanga have passed away, El
  Valle Bakery continues to thrive through the able operation of
  their son, Rafael; a graduate of The University of Texas-Pan
  American, he is married to Yvonne Berlanga and is the proud father
  of two daughters, Maya and Paloma; he joined the family business in
  2008; and
         WHEREAS, During the past 35 years, El Valle Bakery has gained
  a loyal following, and members of the Berlanga family may take pride
  in the vital role they continue to play in the life of Rio Grande
  City and Starr County; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor El Valle Bakery and
  its founders, Adolfo Berlanga and Maria del Carmen Berlanga, and
  extend to Rafael Berlanga sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Berlanga family as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
