R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Judy Smithey retired as a senior public policy |
|
consultant with Dean International, Inc., in May 2011, after a |
|
notable tenure that spanned more than 16 years; and |
|
WHEREAS, Beginning her service with the Dallas consulting |
|
firm in 1995, Ms. Smithey worked on a range of important issues and, |
|
in so doing, built productive relationships with a number of |
|
elected officials and their staffs; particularly skilled at |
|
overseeing functions and coordinating with dignitaries, she was |
|
well-known and respected in governmental circles in both Austin and |
|
Washington, D.C.; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Smithey's ability to juggle multiple |
|
responsibilities was greatly appreciated by her colleagues, and she |
|
was known for her warm and friendly nature, which made her a |
|
pleasure to work with; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Ms. Smithey enjoys the love |
|
and support of a fine family that includes a son, a daughter and |
|
son-in-law, and three granddaughters; and |
|
WHEREAS, Judy Smithey distinguished herself through her |
|
dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence, and she |
|
may indeed reflect with pride on her outstanding career as she |
|
embarks on the next exciting chapter in her life; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Judy Smithey |
|
on her retirement as a senior public policy consultant with Dean |
|
International, Inc., and extend to her sincere best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Smithey as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
