R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and a host of friends will forever cherish |
|
the life of Dorothy Tapley of Emory, who died on May 4, 2011, at the |
|
age of 72; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born to Grady and Lessie Brown on June 11, 1938, in |
|
Texarkana, Arkansas, the former Dot Brown enjoyed the companionship |
|
of seven siblings, Sam, Roy, Mike, Paul, Beulah, Jean, and Bea; and |
|
WHEREAS, She married Bob "B. T." Tapley, and the two went on |
|
to share nearly 40 rewarding years together and to raise five |
|
children, Mike, Ron, James, Susie, and Teresa; later, they |
|
delighted in watching their family grow to include three |
|
grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, A devout Baptist and an accomplished homemaker, Mrs. |
|
Tapley took great joy in caring for her family and her friends; her |
|
favorite pastimes included sitting on the front porch on a |
|
beautiful day, often accompanied by her faithful dog, Cody; she |
|
also enjoyed observing colorful birds at the feeders that she |
|
provided outside her kitchen window, and she loved to drop a fishing |
|
line; and |
|
WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Dot Tapley will |
|
remember the way she touched their lives with her warmth and |
|
kindness, and she will always hold a treasured place in their |
|
hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|
of Dorothy Tapley and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her |
|
family: to her devoted husband, B. T. Tapley; to her children, Mike |
|
Renfro, Ron Tapley, James Tapley, and Teresa Shiflet and her |
|
husband, Curtis; to her grandchildren, Robyn Meade, Angela Shiflet, |
|
and Jason Shiflet; to her sisters, Jean Rounsavall and her husband, |
|
Ray, and Bea Turner; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dot Tapley. |
