A JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing an appropriation |
|
|
from the economic stabilization fund for education by a majority |
|
|
vote. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 49-g, Article III, Texas Constitution, |
|
|
is amended by adding Subsection (m-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(m-1) In addition to the appropriation authority provided |
|
|
by Subsections (k), (l), and (m) of this section, the legislature |
|
|
may, by a majority vote of the members present in each house, |
|
|
appropriate amounts from the economic stabilization fund at any |
|
|
time for the purpose of funding higher education or public primary |
|
|
and secondary education. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 8, 2011. |
|
|
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the |
|
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing an |
|
|
appropriation from the economic stabilization fund for education by |
|
|
a majority vote." |
