Deborah Lynn Adams |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|
|
citizens of The Woodlands in mourning the loss of Deborah Lynn |
|
|
Adams, who died May 15, 2011, at the age of 54; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Deborah Lynn Adams was born May 5, 1957, in |
|
|
Kinder, Louisiana; she was an exemplary citizen who had an |
|
|
enormous impact on the lives of many who faced disabilities and |
|
|
addiction, and her commitment to service and love of life were |
|
|
inspirational; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of her impressive career, she set |
|
|
a high standard for the services necessary to care for those who |
|
|
require assistance to live their daily lives with dignity and |
|
|
meaning; she established several intermediate care facilities |
|
|
for people with mental retardation across the state and played a |
|
|
vital role in founding numerous Home and Community-Based |
|
|
Services programs; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A woman of courage, compassion, and joyous |
|
|
energy, she gave unselfishly to others, and her dedication to |
|
|
ensuring quality care, her generous spirit, and her enthusiasm |
|
|
for living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten by those |
|
|
who knew her; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Debbie Adams was devoted to her family, and |
|
|
although she will be greatly missed by all those who shared in her |
|
|
life, she will continue to live in their hearts and minds for |
|
|
years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere |
|
|
condolences to the bereaved family of Deborah Lynn Adams: her |
|
|
children, Kaelynn Adams Haack and Cooper Adams Haack; her |
|
|
sisters, Billie Welch and Mary Roberts; and her nieces, nephews, |
|
|
cousins, and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
|
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
|
memory of Debbie Lynn Adams. |
