SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 64

Royce Christian |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|
|
citizens of The Woodlands in mourning the loss of Royce |
|
|
Christian, who died May 19, 2011, at the age of 60; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Royce Christian was a longtime resident of The |
|
|
Woodlands who cared deeply about the community, working to make |
|
|
it a better place to live by promoting such projects as energy |
|
|
conservation, recycling, and resource preservation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Christian had a profound impact on the people |
|
|
around him, both in his work at an industrial shipping and supply |
|
|
company and in his involvement as a leader in numerous civic |
|
|
organizations; he served as president of The Woodlands Joint |
|
|
Powers Agency and Montgomery County Municipal Utility District |
|
|
60 and was active in The Woodlands Community Association, the |
|
|
Lone Star Koi Club, and Birdies for Charity; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A man of courage, generosity, and compassion, he |
|
|
gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, his capacity for |
|
|
seeing the best in people, and his enthusiasm for living each day |
|
|
to the fullest will not be forgotten; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and |
|
|
grandfather, and although he will be deeply missed by his family |
|
|
and many friends, he will continue to live in their hearts for |
|
|
years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere |
|
|
condolences to the bereaved family of Royce Christian: his wife, |
|
|
Judy Christian; his son and daughter-in-law, Shannon and Paige |
|
|
Christian; his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Roy |
|
|
Letbetter; his mother, Marie Hall; and his brothers, his |
|
|
grandchildren, and the many other beloved members of his family; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
|
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
|
memory of Royce Christian. |
