SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 77

Fred Carmona |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|
citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Fred Carmona, who |
|
died May 28, 2011, at the age of 60; and |
|
WHEREAS, Fred Carmona was born September 2, 1950; he was a |
|
1970 graduate of Fox Tech High School, where he was a proud member |
|
of the football team; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Carmona attended San Antonio College before |
|
embarking on a long career in business that saw him work for the |
|
Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company and Stanhome, Incorporated, before |
|
creating his own advertising business, Specialty Concepts; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Carmona was renowned for his organizational |
|
abilities and was responsible for planning numerous parades that |
|
honored the culture and traditions of his beloved city and paid |
|
tribute to our nation's veterans; he was the driving force behind |
|
the Fiesta Flambeau Parade, the Diez y Seis Parade and Festival, |
|
and the United States Military Veterans Parade; and |
|
WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, he |
|
gave unselfishly to others, and although he will be deeply missed |
|
by his large and loving extended family, he will continue to live |
|
in their hearts and minds for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere |
|
condolences to the bereaved family of Fred Carmona; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
memory of Fred Carmona. |
