SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 101
|
|
|
WHEREAS, For more than a century the Boy Scouts of America |
|
|
organization has helped young men build character, become |
|
|
responsible citizens, and develop their abilities in a wide range |
|
|
of pursuits, and only those scouts who advance through the |
|
|
program to its highest rank are rewarded with its greatest honor; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Emilio Manzano of Boy Scouts of America Troop 155 |
|
|
in River Oaks has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, an |
|
|
accomplishment that truly merits special recognition as a |
|
|
significant honor bestowed on only a small fraction of those who |
|
|
enter scouting; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Mary Chaisson, he earned more than the |
|
|
requisite 21 merit badges, graduated from Castleberry High |
|
|
School, where he was active in band, and successfully completed |
|
|
an Eagle Scout project consisting of building stairs for the |
|
|
River Oaks Community Center; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This fine Texan has demonstrated outstanding |
|
|
leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the |
|
|
respect and admiration of his fellow scouts and peers as he |
|
|
worked toward the highest rank that scouting offers and served |
|
|
his troop and his community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The qualities developed by a scout who attains |
|
|
this prestigious rank are invaluable assets to him on the road of |
|
|
life that lies ahead; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Emilio Manzano has |
|
|
brought great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his |
|
|
community, and his state; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Emilio Manzano |
|
|
on receiving this prestigious honor, congratulate him on his |
|
|
outstanding achievement, and extend to him sincere wishes for |
|
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
Eagle Scout Manzano as an expression of high regard from the |
|
|
Texas Senate. |
