SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 134
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to |
|
recognize the Texans who have honorably served their country in |
|
the military forces in times of war and peace; and |
|
WHEREAS, Veterans Day is an opportunity for Texans |
|
everywhere to be reminded of the valor and dedication to freedom |
|
our nation's veterans have shown on behalf of our country; and |
|
WHEREAS, In honor of the sacrifices made by these brave men |
|
and women, a Veterans Day parade and memorial service is being |
|
held November 12, 2011, presented by the United States Military |
|
Veterans Parade Association, Bexar County, and the City of San |
|
Antonio; and |
|
WHEREAS, The courageous men and women who fought in wars |
|
and peacekeeping missions have set a lasting standard for others |
|
to follow; their selfless devotion and strength have left an |
|
indelible mark on the world; and |
|
WHEREAS, It is indeed fitting that all Texans reaffirm |
|
their gratitude to those true patriots who have fought so bravely |
|
in defense of our nation's safety, security, and ideals; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor and commend the men |
|
and women who have served this nation in the armed services and |
|
join all Texans in paying tribute to them on Veterans Day; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
|
honor of this solemn occasion. |
