SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 138
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Juanita Gonzales on the occasion of her retirement from
  the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts on May 31, 2011,
  after 36 years of loyal service to the state; and
 
         WHEREAS, Juanita Gonzales began her career with the state
  as the head cashier in the accounting office of Southwest Texas
  State University; and
 
         WHEREAS, She joined the comptroller's office in 1983, in an
  era when the office used the key punch card system, and stacks of
  warrants were added with an adding machine; her previous
  experience helped her play a key role in the implementation of
  automated system processes; and
 
         WHEREAS, Throughout her career with the state, Mrs. Gonzales
  handled her many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency
  and dedication; and
 
         WHEREAS, She earned the admiration and respect of her
  colleagues, and her presence in the Office of the Comptroller of
  Public Accounts is truly missed; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Juanita Gonzales
  for her many contributions to our state and extend to her best
  wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
