System updates will be applied on February 19, 2026 at 6:00 PM. These updates will include changes to the user interface. Work is expected to take approximately 30 minutes to complete, during which the site will be unavailable.

Amend HB 849 as follows:

(1) On page 2, between lines 26 and 27, insert the following section, appropriately numbered:

SECTION ____. Section 27.034(a-1), Water Code, as added by this Act, applies only to an application for a permit to dispose of oil and gas waste in a commercial disposal well, as defined by the Railroad Commission of Texas.

(2) Renumber the subsequent sections of the bill accordingly.
