Amend HB 1616 on third reading by adding the following appropriately numbered SECTIONS to the bill and renumbering subsequent SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:
SECTION ____. Section 571.122, Government Code, is amended by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:
(e) It is not a valid basis of a complaint to allege that a report required under Chapter 254, Election Code, contains the improper name or address of a person from whom a political contribution was received if the name or address in the report is the same as the name or address that appears on the check for the political contribution.
SECTION ____. Subchapter E, Chapter 571, Government Code, is amended by adding Section 571.1222 to read as follows:
Sec. 571.1222. DISMISSAL OF COMPLAINT CHALLENGING CERTAIN INFORMATION IN POLITICAL REPORT. At any stage of a proceeding under this subchapter, the commission shall dismiss a complaint alleging that a report required under Chapter 254, Election Code, contains the improper name or address of a person from whom a political contribution was received if the name or address in the report is the same as the name or address that appears on the check for the political contribution.
