Amend HB 2817 (house committee printing) by adding the following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and renumbering the remaining SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:

SECTION ____.  Notwithstanding any other law, a special election must be called for an office in which a person who was elected to the office changes political party membership.
