BILL ANALYSIS

H.B. 367

By: Orr

Transportation

Committee Report (Unamended)

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Current law designates only the southern portion of soon-to-be-built State Highway 121 as the Chisholm Trail Parkway. To provide consistency, encourage economic development, and facilitate tourism marketing, H.B. 367 designates State Highway 121 from Interstate Highway 30 to United States Highway 67 as the Chisholm Trail Parkway.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution.

ANALYSIS

H.B. 367 amends the Transportation Code to change one endpoint of the segment of State Highway 121 that is designated as the Chisholm Trail Parkway so that the parkway includes the segment of State Highway 121 between United States Highway 67 in Johnson County at one end and Interstate Highway 30 in Tarrant County, rather than Farm-to-Market Road 1187 in that county, at the other end.

EFFECTIVE DATE

September 1, 2011.
