BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

 

Game wardens commissioned by the Parks and Wildlife Commission work to create a pleasant, recreational atmosphere for Texas residents and visitors to the state by keeping Texas waterways safe. H.B. 2141 establishes that game wardens commissioned by the commission are the primary enforcement officers responsible for enforcing provisions of law relating to water safety.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution.

 

ANALYSIS

 

H.B. 2141 amends the Parks and Wildlife Code to establish that game wardens commissioned by the Parks and Wildlife Commission are the primary enforcement officers responsible for enforcing provisions of law relating to water safety.

 

EFFECTIVE DATE

 

On passage, or, if the bill does not receive the necessary vote, September 1, 2011.
