AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT
Current law requires that a driver's license or commercial driver's license (CDL) include a color photograph. C.S.S.B. 1532 authorizes, but does not require, the Texas driver's license program to issue a personal identification certificate, driver's license, or CDL with a laser engraved photograph.
C.S.S.B. 1532 allows the Department of Public Safety of the State of Texas to comply with the Association of American Motor Vehicle Administrators 2010 Driver's License standards by adding language to permit the use of a laser engraved photograph on a personal identification certificate, driver's license, or CDL.
C.S.S.B. 1532 amends current law relating to a photograph on a personal identification certificate, driver's license, or commercial driver's license.
