AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

S.B. 1562 would designate State Highway 75, between Interstate Highway 45 north of Streetman to South Loop 336 south of Conroe, as the 75th Ranger Regiment Highway.  The 75th Ranger Regiment is one of the most distinguished units in the United States armed forces and we can honor their long history of sacrifices for our state and country by dedicating this road in their name.  Currently there is no law assigning any other name than State Highway 75 to this stretch of road.

As proposed, S.B. 1562 amends current law relating to the designation of a segment of Texas State Highway 75 as the 75th Ranger Regiment Highway.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.
