AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

 

S.B. 1926 amends the Health and Safety Code by renaming the outpatient clinic operated by the South Texas Health Care System in Harlingen, Texas, the Colonel William "Bill" Card, Jr., Outpatient Clinic.

 

As proposed, S.B. 1926 amends current law relating to the Colonel H. William "Bill" Card, Jr., Outpatient Clinic.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1.  Amends Subchapter A, Chapter 13, Health and Safety Code, by adding [sic] Section 13.007 as follows:

 

Sec. 13.007.  New heading: COLONEL H. WILLIAM "BILL" CARD, JR., OUTPATIENT CLINIC.  Provides that the outpatient clinic operated by the South Texas Health Care System in Harlingen, Texas, is named the Colonel H. William "Bill" Card, Jr., Outpatient Clinic in honor of Colonel H. William "Bill" Card, Jr., rather than is named the Representative Jim Solis and Colonel H. William "Bill" Card, Jr., Outpatient Clinic in honor of Representative Jim Solis  and Colonel H. William "Bill" Card, Jr.

 

SECTION 2.  Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2011.
