Committee Report (Unamended)

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

The bill requires the State Preservation Board to establish an African American Texans memorial monument on the State Capitol grounds.  The monument will honor historical contributions of African Americans to the State of Texas.  This bill expands authorization of the State Preservation Board to provide a broader representation of African Americans in the State of Texas.

As proposed, S.B. 1928 amends current law relating to an African American Texans memorial monument on the Capitol grounds.
