A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
|
|
|
relating to the requirement that certain impaired veterinarians |
|
|
|
|
|
participate in a peer assistance program. |
|
|
|
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 801.401, Occupations Code, is amended by |
|
|
|
|
|
adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|
|
|
|
|
(e) The board may issue a disciplinary order directing a |
|
|
|
|
|
veterinarian to participate in the peer assistance program under |
|
|
|
|
|
Section 801.157 if the board determines that the veterinarian is an |
|
|
|
|
|
impaired professional as defined by Section 467.001, Health and |
|
|
|
|
|
Safety Code. |
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
