A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to access to campuses of public schools and institutions |
|
|
of higher education by foreign consuls. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 1, Education Code, is amended by adding |
|
|
Section 1.006 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 1.006. ACCESS TO CAMPUS BY FOREIGN CONSUL. A public |
|
|
elementary or secondary school or an institution of higher |
|
|
education as defined by Section 61.003 may not allow a foreign |
|
|
consul access to the school campus or campus of the institution of |
|
|
higher education if the foreign consul enters the campus with the |
|
|
intent to: |
|
|
(1) distribute foreign identification cards; or |
|
|
(2) accept applications for foreign identification |
|
|
cards. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
