A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to competitive bidding by school districts for |
|
|
professional services. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 2254, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 2254.0025 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 2254.0025. EXCEPTION. This subchapter does not apply |
|
|
to a school district. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 44.031(f), Education Code, is repealed. |
|
|
SECTION 3. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to |
|
|
the selection of a provider of professional services or the award of |
|
|
a contract to provide professional services made on or after the |
|
|
effective date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
