A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to certain nonrefundable application fees established by |
|
|
the Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 1701.154, Occupations Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 1701.154. FEES. (a) The commission may establish |
|
|
reasonable and necessary fees for the administration of this |
|
|
chapter, including reasonable and necessary fees for the |
|
|
administration of Section 1701.257. |
|
|
(b) The commission may refund an application fee, including |
|
|
a fee that is otherwise nonrefundable, paid for an application if |
|
|
the commission determines the application was submitted by mistake. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to an application submitted to the Commission on Law Enforcement |
|
|
Officer Standards and Education on or after the effective date of |
|
|
this Act. An application submitted before the effective date of |
|
|
this Act is governed by the law in effect immediately before the |
|
|
effective date of this Act, and that law is continued in effect for |
|
|
that purpose. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
