A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the dissolution of certain bail bond boards. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 1704, Occupations Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 1704.057 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 1704.057. DISSOLUTION OF CERTAIN BAIL BOND BOARDS. |
|
|
(a) A bail bond board may be dissolved in a county with a population |
|
|
between 64,000 and 65,000 that is adjacent to a county in which a |
|
|
geriatric prison facility is located if: |
|
|
(1) a majority of the members of the board determine to |
|
|
dissolve the board; and |
|
|
(2) the commissioners court approves the dissolution |
|
|
of the board by a majority vote. |
|
|
(b) Chapter 17, Code of Criminal Procedure, governs the |
|
|
taking of bail in a county in which the bail bond board has been |
|
|
dissolved. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
