A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the effect of a delay by the State Board for Educator |
|
Certification in renewing an educator's certification. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 21.0031, Education Code, is amended by |
|
adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
|
(f) For purposes of this section, a certificate or permit is |
|
not considered to have expired if: |
|
(1) the employee has completed the requirements for |
|
renewal of the certificate or permit; |
|
(2) the employee submitted the request for renewal |
|
prior to the expiration date; and |
|
(3) the date the certificate or permit would have |
|
expired is before the date the State Board for Educator |
|
Certification takes action to approve the renewal of the |
|
certificate or permit. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
