A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to authorizing the sale of certain state land along the |
|
|
Canadian River bed. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. (a) As soon as practical, the asset management |
|
|
division of the General Land Office shall offer for sale the real |
|
|
property described by Subsection (c) of this section. Except as |
|
|
provided by this section, a sale under this section shall be |
|
|
conducted as provided by Section 31.158, Natural Resources Code. |
|
|
(b) The General Land Office is not required to offer the |
|
|
School Land Board the first option to purchase the real property |
|
|
described by Subsection (c) of this section. |
|
|
(c) The real property that must be offered for sale under |
|
|
this section is all real property owned by the state along the |
|
|
Canadian River bed in Roberts and Hemphill Counties that the asset |
|
|
management division determines is not accessible by public road. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
