| relating to a landowner's exemption from the requirement to have a | ||
| hunting license for hunting on the landowner's property. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 42.002, Parks and Wildlife Code, is | ||
| amended by amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (d) to | ||
| read as follows: | ||
| (a) Except as provided by Subsections (b), [ |

| this state without having acquired a hunting license. | ||
| (d) A landowner may hunt on the landowner's property without | ||
| having acquired a hunting license. | ||
| SECTION 2. The change in the law made by this Act applies | ||
| only to an offense committed on or after the effective date of this | ||
| Act. For the purpose of this section, an offense is committed | ||
| before the effective date of this Act if any element of the offense | ||
| occurs before that date. An offense committed before the effective | ||
| date of this Act is covered by the law in effect when the offense was | ||
| committed, and the former law is continued in effect for that | ||
| purpose. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
