A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to street repair and maintenance by a municipal utility |
|
|
district. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 54.242, Water Code, is amended to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
Sec. 54.242. STREET REPAIR OR MAINTENANCE. A district |
|
|
created by general law or special act of the legislature in |
|
|
existence for at least 10 years shall provide necessary street |
|
|
repairs and maintenance [may repair or maintain a street] within |
|
|
the district regardless of the results of a bond election held as |
|
|
provided by Section 54.522. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
