A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the designation of a qualified transportation benefit |
|
|
as a supplemental optional benefits program for state employees by |
|
|
the Employees Retirement System of Texas. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 659.102, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (b-1) and amending Subsection (c) to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
(b-1) The supplemental optional benefits program must |
|
|
include a qualified transportation benefit. |
|
|
(c) The supplemental optional benefits program may include |
|
|
permanent life insurance, catastrophic illness insurance, |
|
|
disability insurance, or prepaid legal services[, or a qualified
|
|
|
transportation benefit]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
