A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to customer choice for certain state agencies served by a |
|
|
municipally owned electric utility. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 40, Utilities Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 40.063 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 40.063. STATE AGENCY UTILITY CHOICE. Notwithstanding |
|
|
any other provision of this chapter, a state agency whose facility |
|
|
located in Travis County is served by a municipally owned utility |
|
|
that has not chosen to participate in customer choice has the right |
|
|
of customer choice, within the certificated retail service area of |
|
|
the utility, as if the utility had chosen to participate in customer |
|
|
choice. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
