A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the issuance of specialty license plates for county |
|
|
officials. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 504.4051 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 504.4051. COUNTY OFFICIALS. (a) In this section, |
|
|
"county official" means: |
|
|
(1) a county commissioner; |
|
|
(2) a sheriff; |
|
|
(3) a county tax assessor-collector; |
|
|
(4) a justice of the peace; or |
|
|
(5) a county clerk. |
|
|
(b) The department shall issue specialty license plates for |
|
|
county officials. The license plates must include the words "County |
|
|
Official." |
|
|
(c) The fee for issuance of the license plates is $40. |
|
|
(d) A person may be issued three sets of license plates |
|
|
under this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
