A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to public school finance. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. The heading to Section 42.2516, Education Code, |
|
|
is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 42.2516. [ADDITIONAL] STATE COMPRESSION PERCENTAGE |
|
|
[AID FOR TAX REDUCTION]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 42.2516, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
amending Subsections (g) and (h) to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) [(g)] The commissioner may adopt rules necessary to |
|
|
implement this section. |
|
|
(c) [(h)] A determination by the commissioner under this |
|
|
section is final and may not be appealed. |
|
|
SECTION 3. The following sections of the Education Code are |
|
|
repealed: |
|
|
(1) Section 41.002(e), (f), and (g) |
|
|
(2) Section 41.0041 |
|
|
(3) Section 41.098 |
|
|
(4) Section 41.099 |
|
|
(5) Section 41.008 |
|
|
(6) Section 42.2513 |
|
|
(7) Section 42.2515 |
|
|
(8) Section 42.2516(b), (b-1), (c), (d), (e), (f), |
|
|
(f-1), (f-2) and (f-3) |
|
|
(9) Section 42.253(c-1) |
|
|
SECTION 4. Section 42.101, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding new Subsection (a-3) to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-3) Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, |
|
|
each reference to $4,765 in this section is increased by the maximum |
|
|
amount permitted utilizing the total amount of revenue from the |
|
|
reduction in the cost of the Foundation School Program resulting |
|
|
from repeal of the former sections of this code repealed by |
|
|
__B ______, Acts of the 82nd Legislature, Regular Session, 2011. |
|
|
SECTION 5. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
