A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to negotiations with the United Mexican States for |
|
|
purchase or lease of the New Orleans Greys flag flown during the |
|
|
Battle of the Alamo. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 401, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 401.105 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 401.105. NEGOTIATIONS. (a) The office of the governor |
|
|
shall negotiate with the president and government of the United |
|
|
Mexican States to purchase or lease from the United Mexican States |
|
|
the New Orleans Greys flag flown during the Battle of the Alamo. |
|
|
(b) This section expires September 1, 2013. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
