A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to requiring signs at intersections with photographic |
|
|
traffic monitoring systems and photographic traffic signal |
|
|
enforcement systems. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 544.012, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
|
|
(f) A municipality shall install a sign at each intersection |
|
|
at which a photographic traffic monitoring system is in active use |
|
|
and at which turning right is permissible as provided by Section |
|
|
544.007(d). The sign must indicate the location at which the |
|
|
operator of the vehicle must stop the vehicle when facing a steady |
|
|
red signal to comply with Section 544.007(d). |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 707.003, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (g-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(g-1) A local authority shall install a sign at each |
|
|
intersection at which a photographic traffic signal enforcement |
|
|
system is in active use and at which turning right is permissible as |
|
|
provided by Section 544.007(d). The sign must indicate the |
|
|
location at which the operator of the vehicle must stop the vehicle |
|
|
when facing a steady red signal to comply with Section 544.007(d). |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
