A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the renewal of an expired cosmetology operator license. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 1602, Occupations Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 1602.355 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 1602.355. RENEWAL OF EXPIRED OPERATOR LICENSE. A |
|
|
person may renew an expired operator license by complying with the |
|
|
requirements for an original license. An applicant for renewal |
|
|
under this section who applies for renewal before the third |
|
|
anniversary of the date the person's license expired is exempt from |
|
|
the examination requirement described by Section 1602.262. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to |
|
|
an application for the renewal of a license that is filed with the |
|
|
Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on or after the |
|
|
effective date of this Act. An application for the renewal of a |
|
|
license that is filed before the effective date of this Act is |
|
|
governed by the law in effect on the date the application was filed, |
|
|
and the former law is continued in effect for that purpose. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
