A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a prohibition on school districts employing under a |
|
|
contract a person whose employment responsibilities relate only to |
|
|
extracurricular activities. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 21.002, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) A school district may not employ under a contract a |
|
|
person whose employment responsibilities to the district relate |
|
|
only to one or more extracurricular activities. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 21.002(d), Education Code, as added by |
|
|
this Act, does not apply to a contract entered into by a school |
|
|
district before the effective date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
