A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to restrictions on written reports required to be provided |
|
|
by school districts and open-enrollment charter schools. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 7.060, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) In addition to the requirements otherwise prescribed by |
|
|
this section, the commissioner shall adopt policies that result in |
|
|
a reduction of at least 25 percent each, for school districts and |
|
|
open-enrollment charter schools, in the total amount of written |
|
|
reports required by the agency to be prepared, as determined in |
|
|
comparison to the total amount of written reports required to be |
|
|
prepared by each of those entities during the 2010-2011 school |
|
|
year. The policies must be implemented as soon as practicable, but |
|
|
not later than the 2012-2013 school year. This subsection expires |
|
|
September 1, 2013. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
