A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to requiring certain victim information to be attached to |
|
|
certain arrest warrants. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 15, Code of Criminal Procedure, is |
|
|
amended by adding Article 15.021 to read as follows: |
|
|
Art. 15.021. INFORMATION ATTACHED TO WARRANT. If a warrant |
|
|
is issued for the arrest of a person alleged to have committed an |
|
|
offense under Section 25.07, Penal Code, or an offense listed in |
|
|
Subsection (a)(1) of that section, the arresting officer must |
|
|
attach to the warrant a written statement identifying the victim of |
|
|
the alleged offense, if that information is available to the |
|
|
arresting officer. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
