CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, A life made rich by family, career, and community
  service has drawn to a close with the death of Lindley Paul Latham
  of Midland on December 11, 2010, at the age of 58; and
         WHEREAS, Paul Latham was born in Midland on December 18,
  1951, and graduated from Midland High School in 1970; he then
  entered Texas Tech University, where he earned his bachelor's
  degree in 1974 and his doctor of jurisprudence degree in 1978; and
         WHEREAS, After law school, Mr. Latham accepted a position
  with the Midland firm of Bullock, Scott & Neisig; he subsequently
  joined Clayton Williams Energy, Inc., and remained with that
  company for 29 years, until his passing; in 1991 he was appointed
  chief operating officer and executive vice president, and in those
  capacities he managed the firm's oil and gas, real estate, and other
  ventures; Mr. Latham also served on the company's board of
  directors; and
         WHEREAS, Paul Latham married the former Debbie Favor and
  together they were blessed with four children, Ryan, Andrew, Kate,
  and Hunter; Mr. Latham shared his love of hunting with his family
  and enjoyed boating with them on Lake LBJ and traveling with them
  the world over; he also gave of his time to worthy causes, serving
  as director of numerous charities and as the board president of
  Trinity School of Midland for six years; and
         WHEREAS, Paul Latham was a man on whom people could rely; his
  love of his family, his kindness toward others, and his sense of
  responsibility were defining characteristics, and the greatness of
  his heart will continue to inspire all those who knew and loved him;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 82nd Legislature of the State of Texas
  hereby pay tribute to the life of Lindley Paul Latham and extend
  sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Debbie;
  to his children, Ryan, Andrew, Kate, and Hunter; to his sister,
  Linda Satterwhite, and her husband, Rodney; to his mother-in-law
  and father-in-law, Beth and Bob Favor, to his sisters-in-law and
  brothers-in-law, Lynn Priess and Dr. Chuck Priess, Vanissa and
  Adolph Micklethwait, and Sherry Favor; and to his many other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
  Lindley Paul Latham.
