A JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
proposing a constitutional amendment relating to elections for |
|
|
directors in certain groundwater conservation districts. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: |
|
|
(g) A conservation district created by the Legislature |
|
|
under this section as a groundwater conservation district shall be |
|
|
governed by a board of directors elected by the voters of the |
|
|
district. Temporary directors responsible for ordering the first |
|
|
election of district directors may be appointed as provided by law. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 8, 2011. |
|
|
The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the |
|
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment relating to elections |
|
|
for directors in certain groundwater conservation districts." |
