A JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
proposing a constitutional amendment relating to county authority |
|
|
to provide for the support of indigent inhabitants. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 14, Article IX, Texas Constitution, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 14. Each county in the State may provide, in such |
|
|
manner as may be prescribed by law, [a Manual Labor Poor House and
|
|
|
Farm,] for taking care of, managing, employing and supplying the |
|
|
wants of its indigent and poor inhabitants. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 8, 2011. |
|
|
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the |
|
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment relating to county |
|
|
authority to provide for the support of indigent inhabitants." |
