R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Agricultural Lifetime
  Leadership class XII are visiting the State Capitol as part of their
  studies, and this occasion provides a fitting opportunity to honor
  this worthwhile initiative and its participants; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1987, the Texas Agricultural
  Lifetime Leadership program is part of Texas AgriLife Extension
  Service of The Texas A&M University System; TALL is devoted to the
  development of outstanding leaders in farming, ranching, and other
  areas of agribusiness; the program focuses on men and women in the
  early stages of their careers, and applicants must be residents of
  Texas actively involved in agriculture-related industries;
  participants are selected on the basis of their leadership
  integrity and effectiveness, analytical and communication skills,
  vocational commitment, and growth potential; and
         WHEREAS, The goals of the program are to identify and support
  emerging industry leaders, to heighten their knowledge of current
  issues, and to increase their personal involvement in state, local,
  and national activities that contribute to the growth of Texas
  agriculture; and
         WHEREAS, The TALL XII class consists of 26 accomplished
  individuals; during their two years in the program, they will tour
  extensively throughout Texas and make trips to Washington, D.C.,
  New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and India; their trip to Austin
  is allowing them to learn firsthand about state government and its
  relationship with agricultural representation and its effects; and
         WHEREAS, The members of the TALL XII class are devoting their
  time and energy to advancing an important component of the state's
  economy, and they are indeed deserving of recognition for their
  dedication and hard work; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate members of the Texas Agricultural
  Lifetime Leadership XII class on their selection for participation
  in this important program and extend to them best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the class as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
