R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Agricultural Lifetime |
|
|
Leadership class XII are visiting the State Capitol as part of their |
|
|
studies, and this occasion provides a fitting opportunity to honor |
|
|
this worthwhile initiative and its participants; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1987, the Texas Agricultural |
|
|
Lifetime Leadership program is part of Texas AgriLife Extension |
|
|
Service of The Texas A&M University System; TALL is devoted to the |
|
|
development of outstanding leaders in farming, ranching, and other |
|
|
areas of agribusiness; the program focuses on men and women in the |
|
|
early stages of their careers, and applicants must be residents of |
|
|
Texas actively involved in agriculture-related industries; |
|
|
participants are selected on the basis of their leadership |
|
|
integrity and effectiveness, analytical and communication skills, |
|
|
vocational commitment, and growth potential; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The goals of the program are to identify and support |
|
|
emerging industry leaders, to heighten their knowledge of current |
|
|
issues, and to increase their personal involvement in state, local, |
|
|
and national activities that contribute to the growth of Texas |
|
|
agriculture; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The TALL XII class consists of 26 accomplished |
|
|
individuals; during their two years in the program, they will tour |
|
|
extensively throughout Texas and make trips to Washington, D.C., |
|
|
New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and India; their trip to Austin |
|
|
is allowing them to learn firsthand about state government and its |
|
|
relationship with agricultural representation and its effects; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of the TALL XII class are devoting their |
|
|
time and energy to advancing an important component of the state's |
|
|
economy, and they are indeed deserving of recognition for their |
|
|
dedication and hard work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate members of the Texas Agricultural |
|
|
Lifetime Leadership XII class on their selection for participation |
|
|
in this important program and extend to them best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the class as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
