R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Our esteemed colleague, State Representative
  Beverly Woolley, and her husband, Lynn Woolley, celebrated the
  memorable occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary on September
  24, 2010; and
         WHEREAS, Beverly Massey and Lynn Woolley, both native
  Houstonians, were united in matrimony at Mount Carmel Catholic
  Church in the Bayou City in 1960; through the years they have
  nurtured a fulfilling marriage, and today they take justifiable
  pride in their fine family, which includes a daughter, Cheryl
  Jackson, two sons, James and David Woolley, and six grandchildren,
  Abby and Morgan Jackson and Jamie, Jalynn, Anna, and Samuel
  Woolley; and
         WHEREAS, Representative and Mr. Woolley have long been
  respected members of the Houston community; they are the former
  owners of a family business, Houston Armature Works, which
  celebrated its centennial in 2007; before joining the Texas
  Legislature in 1995, Representative Woolley served on the Nassau
  Bay City Council; in addition to her work in local and state
  government, her myriad contributions to her fellow Texans include
  service on the boards of the Court Appointed Special Advocates, the
  Mental Health Association, and the Foundation for Financial
  Literacy; she has also coached youth sports and served as a Cub
  Scout leader; and
         WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is a celebration of
  love that has stood the test of time; in the case of Beverly and Lynn
  Woolley, this test has included the challenge of reconciling worlds
  that are to a certain extent quite different; Mr. Woolley, for
  instance, has demonstrated a strong affinity for any mode of
  open-air transport that involves risk taking, from bicycles to
  motorcyles to off-road vehicles; apart from the potential these
  conveyances pose for bodily harm, none of them leaps to mind as an
  especially suitable match for a legislator whose name has become a
  byword for impeccable grooming and sartorial flair; and
         WHEREAS, This pair, however, have found the key to making it
  work; Beverly and Lynn Woolley have now shared a richly rewarding
  five decades together, and the future looks certain to be infused
  with the same love, wisdom, and good humor that have brought them to
  this joyous milestone; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate State Representative Beverly
  Woolley and Lynn Woolley on their golden wedding anniversary and
  extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Representative and Mr. Woolley as an expression of
  high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
