R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Doyle and Doris Thomas of Kerrville |
|
|
celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on July 28, 2010; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas exchanged the vows of matrimony |
|
|
in Childers in 1940, and over the course of their marriage, they |
|
|
have found in each other a loving life partner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Thomas worked for the U.S. Department of |
|
|
Agriculture, retiring as district director in 1978; Mrs. Thomas has |
|
|
been a dedicated homemaker throughout their marriage; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
|
world during the past seven decades, this devoted husband and wife |
|
|
have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Doyle and Doris Thomas on their |
|
|
70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Thomas as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
